The Broken Dreams short screenplay was suppose to finish up it’s film festival circuit run at a Florida festival in which it was accepted, which will be held in February 2020. I was looking forward to attending the last festival, but after getting information from the festival, they are charging filmmakers extra to attend the awards presentations.
I have attended many festivals this year, not only with Broken Dreams, but also for my newest screenplay Swamp Witch and our film The Exit Bag. Not once was filmmakers charged extra to attend the awards ceremony. After spending submission fees for all three projects totaling $120, I refuse to spend extra just to attend the awards. So I will not be attending that festival.
In an effort to attend Broken Dreams last festival, I have submitted to one last festival – the Deep in the Heart Film Festival in Waco, Texas on August 6 – 9, 2020. No guarantee that it will be accepted, but I am hopeful.
Broken Dreams has been accepted for the screenplay competition at the Rendezvous Film Festival. This festival will be held on Amelia Island, Florida on September 26-29. This will be the 10th festival for Broken Dreams.
Broken Dreams has been selected for the 2019 Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase screenplay competition. The festival will be held on July 25-27 at the Garden Hilton in Fort Worth, Texas.
We are waiting to hear from the Forth Worth Indie Film Showcase today. Today (Friday, May31, 2019) is their notification date for the 2019 festival, to be held on July 25-27. We have submitted three projects for their consideration. Broken Dreams (Screenplay), and the newest screenplay by Ron Hervey, Swamp Witch, have been submitted. A short film, The Exit Bag, written and produced by Ron Hervey was also submitted. We will post the news here as soon as we get it.
The Broken Dreams Screenplay has won the best short screenplay at the Calcasieu Parish Short Film Festival, held on Saturday, May 18th just outside Lake Charles, Louisiana.
This is the third fistival win for the screenplay, taking top short screenplay awards at both the Red Dirt Film Festival and the Sunny Side Up Film Festival earlier this year.
The wins bolster our confidence that we have a great screenplay to make our film from.
The script is also in consideration for three more festivals before it completes its film festival circuit run later this year.
